"Tauris Belts and Custom Leathers was established in 1978 by Philip P. Taurisano, a former Utica, New York police officer. Philip worked alongside his brother, Michael P. Taurisano, who operated Tauris Holsters from the mid-1960s. While collaborating with Michael, who also served as Deputy Chief of the Utica Police Department, Philip developed a firm conviction based on his experience on the force: there was a vital need for every officer and individual to have a high-quality leather belt to properly support their equipment and last for years to come."
